Petersham
Petersham is a suburb in the Inner West of Sydney. Petersham is located 6 kilometres south-west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of Inner West Council.
History
In 1793 Major Francis Grose ordered the area, which he named after his birthplace in England, to be cleared to allow for farming of corn and wheat. Crops thrived here and farming continued here until the arrival of the railway line in 1857, when much of the land was sold and subdivided for residential development.

The station includes an ornate iron pedestrian bridge over the train line. Petersham is also well served by various bus connections.
Recreation
