History
Glenhaven was originally called Sandhurst, however in 1894 the name was changed to reflect its valley location given the confusion with mail as a suburb in Melbourne had the same name. The upper portion of the valley was known as “The Glen” and the lower portion as “The Haven” hence the name Glenhaven.
The Sandhurst Estate was thereafter created in the 1980s by Binet Homes and took its cues from the English countryside, including the construction of some beautiful Tudor homes which remain today and are a popular part of the leafy suburb.
